This policy explains what personal information Heritage Travel Asia (“HTA”, “we”) collects, why, and how you can control it. HTA is operated by Rupak Chatterjee in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Contact: rupak@heritagetravelasia.com.
What we collect
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address, and the date and source of your sign-up.
- Optional reader survey: your first name and your answers about travel timing, planning and regions of interest, if you choose to complete it.
- Enquiries: your name, email address and anything you tell us when you write to us or request planning.
- Purchases: when you buy a Brief, Planner or Itinerary on our store, the store provider processes your payment and shares your name, email address and order details with us. We never see your card details. Purchases on Amazon are handled by Amazon; we do not receive your personal details.
- Website use: basic technical data (such as browser type and pages visited) collected by our hosting and website tools, and small cookies set by the newsletter sign-up form.
How we use it
- To send the complimentary guide and the weekly newsletter you asked for.
- To reply to your enquiries and, if you engage us, to plan your travel.
- To deliver your purchases and provide support.
- To understand which content readers value, so the newsletter and Briefs improve.
For readers in the UK and European Union, we rely on your consent (newsletter, survey), on performing a contract (purchases, planning services) and on our legitimate interest in running and improving HTA. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Beehiiv (newsletter and sign-up forms)
- Tally (optional reader survey)
- Payhip (store and payments)
- Titan (email)
- Hostinger and WordPress (website hosting)
- Heyzine (online previews of our publications)
- Google Search Console (website search performance, without personal profiles)
Some of these providers are based outside the UAE, the UK or the EU, including in the United States. They are required to protect your information.
How long we keep it
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiry and planning correspondence is kept for up to three years. Purchase records are kept as long as accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the foot of every email.
- Access, correct or delete your information by writing to rupak@heritagetravelasia.com. We will respond within 30 days.
- If you are in the UK or EU, you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
HTA is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
